Arsenal plotting a move for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez

Arsenal

Arsenal is reportedly linked with a move for Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez as per the report in Italian outlet Calciomercato

The 24-years-old joined the Nerazzurri back in 2018 from the Argentine club Racing. After enjoying a stellar campaign last term, the forward has carried on his form this season, scoring 19 goals and assisting three times in 33 Serie A appearances.

According to the report, Lautaro Martinez could leave Simone Inzaghi’s side this summer, while Arsenal and Manchester City are eyeing a move for the highly-rated forward. However, after the Citizens’ purchase of Erling Braut Haaland, it is highly unlikely that they will go for yet another high-profile striker.

So, this could allow the Gunners a clear run-in for the 24-years-old. On the other hand, Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, who will leave the Bianconeri for free this summer, is highly linked with a move to the Milan-based club. And it will help Arsenal in signing Lautaro Martinez this summer.

Will Lautaro Martinez be a good fit for Arsenal?

Signing Lautaro Martinez could be a very good addition to the Arsenal squad. The north London club needs to sign a forward who can contribute with goals. And the Argentine could be an apt acquisition, having the 24-years-old displayed his goal-scoring prowess in the Italian league.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are also in contact with Gabriel Jesus with the hopes of signing the Brazilian in the summer. So, it will be interesting to see which one of them will end up at the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The Manchester City forward would be a better signing for Mikel Arteta’s side. Given the 25-year-old has the experience of playing in the Premier League. Moreover, the Spanish boss and the Brazilian have already worked together at the Etihad Stadium. So, they already know each other.

Qualifying in the Champions League will have a major impact on the Gunners’ summer business. And given the north London club can qualify for Europe’s elite club competition with a victory against Tottenham Hotspur. It appears that the north London club is currently on an upward trajectory.
