Arsenal prepared to invest heavily in proven goal-scorer

Gunners have felt a need to signing a striker in recent days. As Arsenal are weighing up their options, Mikel Arteta has asked the board to sign Alexander Isak. The reports also say that Gunners are ready to make Isak their club record signing.

Gunners wanted to sign a striker this summer itself. Both Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus were very poor last season. Nketiah left the club whereas Jesus has dropped down the pecking order.

Arsenal were interested to sign Benjamin Sesko who signed a contract extension with RB Leipzig instead. This left Gunners without striker and Arteta decided to to make Kai Havertz his main number nine.

Havertz is doing well but is not as clinical as a proper number nine. It is also unclear wheter the German international do the number nine job in a long run. On the other hand, Jesus is still struggling and is very likely to leave next year.

Arsenal prepared to spend big on Alexander Isak

According to Now Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has informed the Arsenal board to sign Alexander Isak. Isak who scored against Gunners very recently is having some contract issues with Newcastle United.

Isak wants a new contract with higher salary which will make him the highest paid Newcastle player. In addition, he wants a release clause and Magpies are not ready to met his demands.

The report further states that Gunners are ready to offer around €120 million for Isak. This will make him the club record signing breaking the previous held by Declan Rice. The Magpies still view Isak as key player and will not like to lose him, but this amount can make them accept the offer.

Isak is a proven goal scorer in Premier League. He was third in top-scorers list last season as he was able to find the back of the net 21 times. Isak can certainly bring this clinical goal-scoring to North London, which is what they need to win the League title.
