Arsenal’s problems pile up as Bukayo Saka is injured

Arsenal are set to face problems as their star forward Bukayo Saka has suffered an injury. The Englishman went down in England’s match against Greece in the Nation’s League.

The injury concerns for the Gunners are rising as another important player from their squad has injured himself. England started their matchday 3 of the Nation’s league against Greece. This game was intense as both countries were fighting fiercely to grab points.

Arsenal winger Bukayo went down early in the second half. Saka felt some discomfort and asked to be substituted. The England medical staff treated the winger and later escorted him out of the pitch. Bukayo was then replaced by Chelsea forward Noni Madueke.

The 23-year-old was facing discomfort as soon as Greece opened scoring with a goal from Vangelis Pavledis. Saka was seen holding the back of his right after the first goal. This injury was salt to the wounds of England as they lost the match 1-2. Harry Kane and Jack Grealish were not a part of this game due to injuries.

England faces Finland next in their Nations League fixture on Sunday. This would be an important game for the Englishmen as they would look to grab impactful points. Saka will not be a part of this match due to his injury. Kane and Grealish however will most likely be in the squad.

Bukayo Saka back to Arsenal camp?

Arsenal faces more injury concerns as their youngster Bukayo Saka has injured himself in England’s match against Greece in the Nations League. The forward has left the English camp and returned to the Arsenal camp for further assessment of his injury according to SkySports.

The Arsenal winger was escorted off the pitch a few minutes after halftime. He felt discomfort in his hamstring and after the match, the medical staff declared it was a serious injury. The winger is set to miss out on England’s next fixture against Finland. Saka will also miss Arsenal’s Premier League matches against Chelsea and Liverpool.

England’s interim manager Lee Carsley spoke about Saka’s injury in the post-match interview he said-

” He’s being assessed. In the build of the first goal you could see he felt something in his leg”.

Mikel Arteta would feel pressure as the roster of injured players has only risen in his squad. The first blow also came in the Nations League as Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was injured during the international break.

Saka’s injury will see him out of the Gunners squad from upcoming important fixtures. Arsenal will face Bournemouth at the Vitality stadium. There are also humongous Premier League face-offs lined up for Arteta’s men. It would be interesting to see how Arsenal manage without their star youngster.

England disappointed with their last match

Lee Carsely decided to bring up an experimental lineup that ended in a disastrous turnout. Greece stunned England at their home stadium Wembley to register a 2-1 victory.

The momentum shifted towards Greece when Vangelis Pavlidis opened the scoring. The Greek also scored his brace which led to his team winning the game. There would be more goals if they weren’t offside.

There was some hope for the Englishmen when Jude Bellingham equalised the score in the 87th minute. The hopes were soon crushed as a goal from Pavlidis led Greece to win the game. Lee Carsely tried an experimental lineup as Harry Kane and Jack Grealish were out due to injuries.

The interim manager crammed up Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka to start the match. These youngsters were unable to find the perfect rhythm. Things only got worse as Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka injured himself after halftime.

It was Greece’s first win against England after 2 draws and seven losses in their previous nine meetings. This was a historic win for the Greeks that they would favour for a long time. England would look to get back up in their next game against Finland.
