Arsenal Wonderkid William Saliba Joins Nice on Loan: More to Follow?

Arsenal youngster William Saliba will return to France with Nice until the end of the season. The defender is yet to make his debut for Arsenal, 18 months after joining the Gunners.

There is no option to make the move permanent as Arsenal see the French defender as a part of their long-term plans. Gunners hope a loan move will provide him with valuable experience before fighting for a first-team place next season.

William Saliba is a player with a huge amount of talent and potential. We’re confident he will have a great career with us but we must remember that he is still only 19 years old and has a lot of time ahead of him.

– Arsenal Technical Director Edu

Arsenal are planning a major squad overhaul with several players linked with a move away from Emirates after Saliba. Gunners need to trim their squad and most importantly wage bill. As a result out of favor, Bosnian Left-back Sead Kolasinac completed a move to Schalke. However, more exits are expected in the upcoming weeks.

Mesut Ozil to Fenerbahçe S.K.?

The 32-year-old German has been frozen out of first-team action under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal. However, According to reports in Turkey Fenerbahce will sign German midfielder Mesut Ozil from Arsenal for three and a half years for an undisclosed fee.

The agent of Mesut Ozil has confirmed the midfielder’s future will be decided in the “next seven to ten days”.

Sokratis to Fenerbahçe S.K.?

Sokratis Papastathopoulos is also in talks with Turkish club Fenerbahce over a potential move in January. After a €20 million from Borussia Dortmund in 2018, Sokratis has also been out of favor at Arsenal. An excellent defender, however, Greek International is not comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Which has become critical in modern build-up play. Apart from Fenerbahçe, Sokratis has attracted interests from Greece and Saudi Arabia.

Arsenal considers Shkodran Mustafi, Mohamed Elneny, Calum Chambers, and Joe Willock as dispensable in the current squad. Arsenal are in the market to sign an attacking midfielder. Likes of Julian Brandt, Isco and Carlos Soler have been linked with a move to Emirates. However for any deal to happen, Arsenal needs to sell first.
