Arsenal set to accept £20m Bid from their London rivals

Arsenal are set to offload their fringe youngster Eddie Nketiah to rival club Crystal Palace in a deal worth £20 million in transfer fees.

The English Premier League is underway, and the clubs have already observed where they need to strengthen. Football fans are back in the stands making the season even more interesting.

Additionally, online platforms such as Vwin, a top Vietnamese sports betting site providing soccer scores data, have started receiving more visitors as soccer fans look for match updates. However, with a few hours remaining before the close of the summer transfer window, there are still some movements expected in the European clubs.

Former Arsenal Captain Patrick Viera, the current Crystal Palace manager, wants a player from his former club. Crystal Palace are willing to offer the Gunners £10 million for Eddie Nketiah. He is an exciting budding footballer that Viera believes would improve his squad significantly.

Nketiah, 22, has a few months remaining in his contract with Arsenal. Moreover, the club has not shown any signs of a new offer, meaning he might not be part of Arteta’s rebuild.

If the situation remains the same, Nketiah will be allowed to hold pre-contract talks with suitors from January for a free transfer. However, Arsenal are adamant that the former England youth international will not leave for anything less than £20 million.

At the moment, only two clubs are chasing the youngster’s signature – Crystal Palace and an unnamed German club. Reports suggest that Arsenal has rejected initial bids from the two interested clubs.

Nketiah Move Beneficial to both Arsenal and Crystal Palace

Suppose Nketiah does not make a move this summer; he risks finding himself in a slump. At the moment, he is behind other senior players such as Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Martinelli, and Emerick Aubameyang in the pecking order.

This means that finding game time will be challenging for the young striker, which would hamper his development. As a result, it would benefit both parties if the player moved on.

The Gunners had attempted to use him in a swap deal with Brighton’s Ben White. However, that deal did not materialize as Arsenal ended up paying for the defender. With the window nearing its end, Nketiah’s options are becoming limited by the hour.

Arsenal’s Transfer Policy under Scrutiny

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane disparaged Arsenal’s transfer policy. Keane claimed that the club lacked guidance in the way it dealt with players.

For instance, he mentioned that the club is full of comfortable players enjoying huge salaries. As a result, it made it almost impossible for Arteta to offload some deadwood to raise funds to use in the market.

Keane also stated these players earn huge salaries, and the manager cannot change them. He also claimed that such players are comfortable in London and wouldn’t want to leave. The former Irish international suggested that these players lacked ambition and cared less whether the team won or lost.

Is Arteta Under Pressure?

Arsenal have not won a single game this season despite being the British team that has spent the most in the transfer window. Initially, Arteta seemed to be a manager capable of leading the Arsenal rebuild project. However, as things stand, many fans and pundits believe he is a manager out of his depth.

It is still too early in the season to start judging any team. But, if Arteta does not steady the ship, his clock might start ticking.
