Arsenal are set to miss out on Benjamin Sesko once again this month. This will be their second time in failing to land the Slovenian striker.
The Premier League giants were first linked with Sesko in the summer. They tried really hard to sign him but were unable to do so. Instead, Sesko signed a contract extension with RB Leipzig. He increased his stay at Germany until 2029 with the new contract.
Arsenal are having hard time on pitch due to shortage of attacking depth. Their boss Milel Arteta admitted that they are keen to make new signings this month. This revived the club’s interest in Sesko.
Gunners were said to be in talks with Sesko recently. They were said to sign the 21 year old on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. However the striker’s agent is stating exact opposite of this rumours.
Arsenal to miss out on Sesko once again
Sesko’s agent Elvis Basanovic has told GiveMeSport that they are aware of the interest from top clubs. However, he said that Leipzig can answer the questions related to his away move in January.
Later Basanovic said that he has never talked with Gunners about loan move. He has rejected all the rumours. In addition, he said that Sesko is not a kind of player who moves away on loan. Along with Arsenal, he rejected Sesko’s loan move to any other club.
This suggests that Gunners may once again fail to land Sesko this month. It was reported earlier that the 21 year old also prefers to complete this season with Leipzig. But at that time, it was said he may change his mind for right offer from right club.
Sesko is having a superb season with Leipzig at the moment. He has 13 goals and 3 assists in 25 games so far. Gunners would have loved to add him to their unit but now may have to look at other available solutions.
