Arsenal shift their attention from Watkins to his young teammate

Arsenal have had their £40 million bid rejected to sign Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa in January. They have now shifted their attention from Watkins to his teammate who is young and highly versatile.

Gunners entered this transfer window with a hope of landing some attacking players. But it proved very hard for them to advance in any deals for their target. Due to being in the middle of the season, clubs wanted more money for their players.

Despite finding it hard, the North London club did all they can to sign some players. They made an offer worth £40 million to sign Ollie Watkins. But, it was quickly rejected by Aston Villa who had just lost Jhon Duran to Al Nassr.

Later, it was said that Gunners may go again for Watkins with a improved offer. It was said that they may offer as much as £60 million for the 29 year old striker. But, there was no second offer being made and Gunners ended the transfer window without making any signings.

Arsenal interested in another Aston Villa star

TBR Football have reported that Gunners have shifted their focus from Ollie Watkins to Jacob Ramsey. Ramsey is far younger than Watkins and can play in multiple positions too.

Ramsey is 23 years old and has been with Villa since academy days. He had one loan spell but other than that he has been Villa man. He has played 148 games so far in Villa jersey and has registered 15 goals along with 16 assists.

Ramsey plays as left winger but can also play as left midfielder. This makes him a key player for Unai Emery. Aston Villa are keen to secure UCL spot regularly and hence are planning to build a great squad. They will make it hard for every club that is showing interest in their regular starters.
