Arsenal showing interest in Napoli forward Victor Osimhen

Arsenal are reportedly showing active interest in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as per the report in Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport(via HITC).

The Gunners wanted to sign Dusan Vlahovic last January. However, after failing to persuade the Serbian to join the Emirates Stadium. The North London club have now shifted their attention to the Nigerian. The 23-years-old has scored 14 goals. And he made two assists in 26 Serie A appearances.

According to the report, Arsenal have made a concrete approach to sign Napoli youngster Victor Osimhen. And qualifying in the Champions League is essential in signing the 23-years-old. Given he wants to play in Europe’s elite club competition next season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also linked with a move for Gabriel Jesus. The player’s agent has confirmed the contact. He said that the Brazil international is considering a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Will Arsenal be able to sign Victor Osimhen?

Arsenal currently lacks firepower in their attacking department. After letting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang go in January. Mikel Arteta left with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah in the squad.

Despite showcasing early signs of improvement. The Frenchman failed to live up to the expectations at the North London club. Meanwhile, the academy graduate Nketiah has done relatively well in recent weeks. However, it will be a huge ask from the youngster to lead the line for the Gunners.

Both forward contracts will expire at the end of this season. And it will be interesting to see whether Arteta would want to keep them in the squad or not. So, bolstering the forward line will be a shrewd decision. And signing two strikers will be a great acquisition for the North London club.

Victor Osimhen has showcased his talent in Italian football and Arsenal fans will be hoping that the Nigerian will be able to replicate the same at the Emirates Stadium. Meanwhile, Jesus will be a great addition as well. Given the Brazilian can play anywhere across the front line.
