Arsenal star closing in on exit as club ‘opens talks’

Arsenal star is closing in on exit from the Emirates stadium. One club has opened up talks with him and are keen to sign him at the end of the season.

The January window has opened and the transfer activity has started. Gunners can be active in the market to sign attacking players. On the other hand, some of their exisiting stars can move away from the club.

There are some players who are not happy with the lack of game time. Whereas, some are in the final 6 months of their contracts. Such players are now free to hold talks with foreign clubs.

One of the players who is in final half year of contract is Kieran Tierney. The Scottish player is not part of Mikel Arteta’s plans moving forward. He is very likely to exit and one club is already in talks with him.

Kieran Tierney closing in on Arsenal exit

Tierney joined Gunners in 2019 from Celtic and played a big role for the club in initial years. But, the 27 year old fell out of favour in the last season. He was sent on loan to Real Sociedad where he played 26 times.

The idea of Arsenal was to sell Tierney permanently in summer 2024. But, the Scotland international was injured at that time. This resulted in no club making a move for him and Tierney staying at North London.

However, Tierney has been able to play only 1 time this season. He is way behind in pecking order and very likely to leave Gunners. In addition, he will be out of contract at the end of the season which means he can be signed on free transfer.

Sky Sports have reported that Celtic are already in talks with Tierney over the possible return. The 27 year old can hold talks with foreign clubs over the pre-contract. Earlier, it was also reported that Tierney only wants to join Celtic and will reject offers from any other club.

Lastly, Gunners will not miss Tierney too much due to the depth of their defensive unit. However, they will regret losing a quality player on a free transfer.
