One Arsenal star is on the verge of exit from North London. He has agreed personal terms with the interested club. However, exact date of departure is still not decided yet.
The star in question here is Kieran Tierney who joined Gunners in 2019. He has a steady start to his Premier League career but eventually it all started falling down. Mikel Arteta signed Oleksandr Zinchenko which minimized Tierney’s playing time.
The 27 year old star was sent on loan last season to Real Sociedad. Tierney played only 26 games last season and was struggling to perform well. Later, he suffered a serious injury while playing for Scotland in Euros.
Arsenal wanted to sell Tierney in summer as he was in final year of his contract. But, they were unable to do so due to his injury. The North London club have now received an offer from club who are open to sign Tierney this month itself.
Kieran Tierney on the verge of Arsenal exit
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tierney has agreed personal terms with Celtic. The Scottish team have already signed Jota back and now they are working hard to sign back Tierney. Celtic are open to sign him this month but it will depend on what Arsenal think.
If Gunners don’t let Tierney leave this week, they will have to let him go for free in summer. Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers said that everyone agrees that the deal will happen in summer but he added that it will be great if they can land the 27 year old before the summer.
Tierney is way behind in pecking order and there is not much left in his Arsenal career. He is still only 27 years old and needs to revive his career as soon as possible. It will be an emotional return to his boyhood club for whom he played 170 games before joining Gunners.
