Arsenal star opens up about his future amidst January exit rumours

One Arsenal star has been heavily linked with an exit this month. He has now opened up about the situation to clear up about his current situation.

The star in question here is Jorginho who joined Gunners January 2023 from Chelsea. He played a big role in past two seasons and helped Arsenal to finish 2nd in Premier League consecutively. However, his role has reduced this season.

Jorginho has played 10 league games this season and has started in only 6 of those. He has now fallen down the pecking order. In addition, he is 33 years old and will be out if contract at the end of the season.

There are very slim chances of Jorginho being offered contract extension. He is expected to leave as free agent along with his midfield partner Thomas Partey. Gunners are very active in the market to sign new midfielders.

Jorginho has been linked with various clubs right now. It is said that Arsneal may part ways with him this month itself in order to bag some profit. As of now, Brazilian club Flamengo are believed to be frontrunners in the race to sign him.

Jorginho has current opend up about his situation at North London. He has replied to his linking to Flamengo. Despite not giving clear answer, he has suggested that he may stay with Gunners until the end of the season.

“Football is full of surprises, but my full focus is next game with Arsenal. I don’t even pay attention to the rumours. It’s a possibility to return to Brazil, I never played there so it’s an open door for the future” – Jorginho speaking to TNT Sports.

Jorginho suggests that he is staying at North London but as he said anything can happen in football. The final few days of transfer market has arrived and hence activity is expected to spike upwards.
