Arsenal star Jurrien Timber has opened up about his injury issues. He said that the past injury still affects him and also cleared up about the seriousness of the injury.
Timber joined Gunners last season from Ajax and impressed in pre-season. But, he faced the serious injury which made him play only 2 Premier League games in the last season. It was very hard for the player to stay on the sidelines for the entire season.
Timber then made a great come-back this season. He has been very important for Mikel Arteta this term. He has been used in variety of defensive positions. Timber has played 13 matches this season.
The Dutch defender was unable to play for Arsenal sometimes this season as well. It was due to injuries but this time they are not that serious. Now, the player himself has opened up about the situation and cleared up about his absence in certain games.

Timber has admitted that the past injury still affects him. He said that he feels the stiffness in his leg. Considering his injury (cruciate ligament injury), this is pretty common and they player too has assured that it is nothing serious.
Timber said that he had an injury that lasted three or four weeks in October. He added that he then had to play against Liverpool straightaway and it has been non-stop since then. It was necessary for Arteta to use Timber as both Saliba and Calafiori were absent against Liverpool.
“The fact that there are so many competitions is tough for everyone. For me – someone who has had a cruciate ligament injury – it is actually still my first season, so it is very normal” – Timber speaking to Voetbal Zone.
As of now, there is nothing serious about Timber. He is still recovering from a major setback. Mikel Arteta too is using him carefully after being absent for so long. The player will surely play an important role for Gunners as he can play anywhere in defence.
Ben White has undergone minor surgery and hence we may see Timber playing as right back. Calafiori will be back after international break and will claim his place as left back. Arsenal will now look to catch back their top form and compete for the Premier League title.
