Arsenal star said to solve Madrid’s problems for 10 years

Real Madrid are linked with William Saliba without whom Arsenal struggle. Now former Madrid player has spoken about the situation. He also spoke abou how Madrid should approach for the defender, how much it will cost and what are the other alternatives.

Real Madrid will be in the winter market to sign a defender. They are already without Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal who will miss the rest of the season. Lucas Vasquez is also injured whereas David Alaba is still not fully fit.

Los Blancos will sign a fullback and a centre back. For fullback, they are keen to sign Trent Alexander Arnold who is in the final year of Liverpool contract. Whereas, they are also linked with Alphonso Davies who too is in his final year of Bayern contract.

As for the centre back, Madrid are keen to sign William Saliba. Saliba has been the main player for Arsenal and hence the North London club in unwilling to sell him. They have him tied with contract running until 2027.

But, when the club like Real Madrid comes knocking on the door it is hard to reject the offers. In addition, the players are often keen to play for Madrid which makes it hard for their current club to keep hold on them.

Real Madrid told to spend big for William Saliba

Former Madrid player Rafael Alkorta has now commented on Madrid’s defender hunt. He was sporting director of Athletic Bilbao and hence he said how he would have approached the situation.

“I wouldn’t sign in January, I would wait and consider Aymeric Laporte as an option. Maybe you have to spend €80 million on a guy like Saliba who will give you 10 more years of service. Real Madrid rarely make mistakes in that regard” – Alkorta speaking to Cadena SER.

Madrid are linked with a move for former Man City defender Aymeric Laporte. Laporte currently plays for Al-Nassr which is captained by Madrid’s top goalscorer of all time Cristiano Ronaldo. The defender has already said that he is ready to move back to Europe.

On the other hand, Arsenal will do all in their power to keep Saliba with them for longer. They are reported to be planning of offering the French defender a new lucrative contract very soon.
