After spending half season with Crystal Palace, Lokonga was sent on season long loan at Lutton Town. The 25 year was able to play only 19 matches before returning to Arsenal. But, he was once again sent on loan in summer 2024 window.
Lokonga joined Sevilla o loan and is doing well at Spain. He has played 16 games so far and has picked 2 assists. He is being used as both central midfielder and holding midfielder. The 25 year old is very happy at Spain and wishes to continue there next season as well.
Albert Sambi Lokonga has asked to leave Arsenal permanently this summer
Lokonga expressed a desire to continue at Sevilla next season. He asked to leave Arsenal and move to Spain permanently. Gunners too can sanction his request as he is not involved in Mikel Arteta’s future plans.
“I feel very good at Sevilla. I’m growing and I feel better with each game. Since leaving Anderlecht, Sevilla is the first club where I feel very, very good. I want to stay but it’s not just my decision. It’s early days and we’ll see each other at the end of the season” – Lokonga about this season as reported by Now Arsenal.
Gunners are set to sign Martin Zubimendi this summer. In addition, they are also said to be in pole position to sign Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg. Hence, they should have no problem to let Lokonga move away permanently. Sevilla have £10 million option to buy which will be activated after this season.
