The star in question here is Kiernan Tierney. The Scotland international has fallen out of favour of Mikel Arteta. He is way behind in pecking order and has played only 1 match this season.
The 27 year old spent the last season on loan at Real Sociedad. He played 26 games and struggled with injuries. Gunners wanted to sell him this summer. But, the plan didn’t work out for them.
Tierney was injured while playing for Scotland in Euro 2024. This resulted in no club making move for him in summer transfer market. As a result, the 27 year old had to stay at North London.

Tierney has been linked with his former club Celtic. Football Insider have now reported that the 27 year old is only keen to join Celtic and will reject offers from other clubs.
Tierney started his career at Celtic so it will be an emotional return for him. He has so far played 170 games for them before joining Arsenal in 2019. This will be a good move for him as he can continue playing as a regular starter.
Tierney is in the peak of his career. He needs regular football which can also help him in keeping his place in the Scotland national team. He has played 47 games for his country and will hope to play many more in future.
