Arsenal still hold serious interest to land 21 year old striker this year. They have been long term admirers of the striker and tried extremely hard to sign him in summer.
Gunners entered the summer 2024 market with an aim to sign striker. Their top target was Benjamin Sesko who had a great season with RB Leipzig. They tried really hard to sign the Slovenia international.
However, Gunners were unable to convince Sesko to join them. In addition, the 21 year old striker even signed a contract extension with Leipzig. Arsenal ended the summer window without a striker which has so far costed them.
Mikel Arteta made Kai Havertz his main striker and the German responded very well initially. However, he has experienced a drop in his form and has been highly inconsistent. This has costed Gunners on multiple occasions.
Arsenal are currently without Bukayo Saka in the attacking department. To make matters even worse, Jesus has suffered a serious injury recently which will keep him sidelined for a long time. This has forced the club to make an attacking siging as soon as possible.
Arsenal seriously interested to sign Benjamin Sesko
Ben Jacobs has reported that Gunners are still keen to land Sesko. He added that the January move is uncertain. Gunners may find it hard to get the deal over the line in the middle of the season.
Sesko has been superb this season. He has scored 12 goals and picked 3 assists in 24 games for Leipzig. Along with number nine, he has also showed that he can operate as attacking midfielder.
Leipzig will demad a hefty amount of money for Sesko. They have tied him until 2029 and hence are very strong when it comes to negotiations. Gunners are open to listen offers for Jesus and this may help them in making up the required amount for Sesko.
