Arsenal super star Gabriel Martinelli sends warning to Liverpool

Arsenal and Brazil star Gabriel Martinelli sends warning signs to Arne Slot and Liverpool as they face each other on matchday nine.

Arsenal and Liverpool are set to have a tough round of fixtures after the international break during which they also face each other. Liverpool stay at top of the league after securing 6 wins and 1 lose in the first seven league matches of the season. They are also unbeaten in the Champions League after beating Milan and Bologna. On the other hand, Arsenal are just one point shy of the Reds and also unbeaten in all competitions. It will surely be one of the most anticipated matches of the season and a potential title decider. Martinelli started the season poorly, but he has picked up his form lately.

ARSENAL AND GABRIEL MARTINELLI SO FAR THIS SEASON

Arsenal sit third on the table level on points with title challengers Manchester City and just point shy of leaders Liverpool. They are still unbeaten in all competitions so far. Gunners only dropped points on three occasions twice in the league against Brighton and Man City. The other one came in their UCL opener against Atalanta.

Remaining unbeaten for this long is a remarkable achievement by the Gunners. We also have to remember that they lost their captain Martin Odegaard in the previous International break. The Norwegian is like a focal point of Arsenal’s game plan. He is someone who was ticking things for Mikel Arteta and his team. However they have survived without him successfully. They managed to pick up 14 points from possible 18 along with a Carabao Cup win against Barrow during that period.

That shows the grit and the mentality of the Arsenal team. Some accuse them of time thievery as they were penalized for time wasting on multiple occasions. Arteta came out saying that he loved the way his team was determined to get games over the line. After the International break, Arsenal again face a set of tough fixtures including matches against Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Inter Milan.

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli sounded very confident when discussing his team’s games once the Premier League resumes: “We can’t wait to play these games and we’ll be ready for them.” via football.london.

LIVERPOOL SEASON SO FAR

The Arne Slot era at Liverpool began in a spectacular fashion actually but hit a small roadblock when they lost to Nottingham Forest at Anfield. That was a crushing loss which was unexpected. However, Liverpool are back on track as they remain on 100% record since that loss. The Reds currently sit on top of the Premier League table with 18 points. That’s a spectacular start to the season but some argue that Liverpool have had the easiest round of fixtures among the top teams in the league.

Let’s just peek into the past fixtures of the Reds. In the seven matches played in the league they have only faced a current top 10 team once. That was against Nottingham Forest, and they lost it. Look at the rest. Man Utd are a top team but is a disaster now. Ipswich newly promoted side sit 17th without a win. Wolves and Crystal Palace have had the worst starts to the season as they sit 20th and 18th respectively Brentford and Bournemouth are higher up in the bottom half of the league. Yes, they won against AC Milan in the Champions League but Milan are not in the best of forms this season.

Anyway, the people who are projecting Liverpool to win the 2024-25 Premier League have to know this. The next round of fixtures will determine the season for Liverpool and their fans. Just look at that. In the next 10 fixtures, the Reds face Chelsea, Arsenal, RB Leipzig, Brighton twice, Bayern Leverkusen, Aston Villa, Southampton, Real Madrid and Manchester City in that order. An exhausting round of fixtures there with Alisson expected to miss majority of them.
