Arsenal are being very heavily linked with world-class striker in recent days. But, he is also being looked upon by French and Saudi clubs who are planning to hijack his move to North London.
The star in question here is Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP. He has been unstoppable since last season which has attracted attention from almost all top clubs. Gunners are keen to sign a new striker and are now focused on the Sweden international.
The North London giants have already held talks with the representatives of Gyokeres. It was said that the player is open to the move. Later, his agents were said to have been very happy after the talks. Gunners are now said to open talks with Sporting about the summer move.
Arsenal face competition from France and Saudi for Viktor Gyokeres
According to The Sun, Gyokeres is wanted by Al Qadsiah. They are prepared to spend big on the Swedish striker and also offer him a lucrative contract. But, the player seems to prefer a move within Europe at this stage of his career.
On the other hand, PSG are willing to sign Gyokeres as their next striker. They are set to sell Kolo Muani in the coming summer. As of now, they do have Goncalo Ramos but are keen to add another striker to their already strong attacking unit.
Despite this interest, Gunners will hope that the Sweden international will opt to join them. As of now, he has more chance of playing regularly at English capital than at French capital. He is 26 years old and joining Saudi club will decrease his chances of playing regularly for his country.
Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta are both set to play a big role in pursuit of Gyokeres. The Spaniard is said to be a good friend of the striker’s agent who will be present at the Champions League clash against Real Madrid.
