Arsenal target may ‘slip out’ due to his hefty transfer fee

One Arsenal target may slip out of their hands due to his hefty transfer fee. He will be very likely available in the market, but his current club will only sanction the sale if their financial demands are met.

The star in question here is Alexander Isak of Newcastle United. The 25 year old has been one of the best strikers in the world in recent seasons. He came into attention last season when he scored 25 goals along with 2 assists.

Isak has improved even further this season. He has scored 19 goals so far and has picked 5 assists as well. He has done all this in just 29 matches. Newcastle are very happy with him and are keen to keep him for long time. But, they may be forced to do exact opposite of this.

Isak wants to play regularly in Champions League. He even rejected new contract due to this wish. The Magpies will allow him to leave if they fail to finish in the top four this season. As of now, Isak has interest from multiple top clubs but Gunners are leading the race.

Arsenal handed massive blow in pursuit of Isak

Gunners are keen to sign big name striker this summer. Isak has been their long-term target and hence they may step up the process this summer. But, The Sun have reported that Newcastle will demand as high as €200 million for the Sweden international.

This transfer fee will come as a massive blow for Gunners. Their priority is striker but they also need to improve other positions. They need a winger, 2 midfielder and a backup keeper. Amidst all these needs, they may hesitate to spend €200 million on single position.

Isak also has interest from other top clubs but they will all hesitate to spend as high as €200 million. The 25 year old may force the club to decrease their demanded price as he will want to find a new club this summer. It will be a worth watching transfer saga for sure.
