Arsenal will enter this transfer window in order to improve theri attacking unit. They have already shortlisted 2 stars but also have many others on their radar.
Gunners started this season without signing a striker. They were also unable to sign winger on permanent deal but did sign Raheem Sterling on loan. However, that deal has not paid off for both club and the player so far.
Arsenal have been constantly hit by injuries this season. As of now, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus are sidelined. Saka will miss 3 months whereas Jesus will miss for long time as he has torn his ACL and will need surgery.
Amidst all these crisis, Mikel Arteta has dropped transfer hints. He said that they will surely enter the market and will try to improve their attack. Gunners do have many options available in market but have currently shortlisted 2 stars.
Which attackers are Arsenal targetting?
According to L’Equipe, Gunners are keeping tabs on Viktor Gyokeres and Bryan Mbeumo. As said constantly, the North London club will like to sign a striker and a winger. These can be replacements for injured stars Jesus and Saka.
Mbeumo has been long term target for Gunners and their interest in the 25 year old has seemingly increased this season. The Cameroon international has been superb this season with 13 goals and 3 assists in Premier League.
Mbeumo plays as right winger but can also feature as striker. He can be a great backup for Saka whereas can also play other important roles under Mikel Arteta. Brentford are demanding around €50 million for the 25 year old.
On the other hand, Gyokeres has also been long term target for Gunners. The Sweden international has been in superb form since joining Sporting. He has scored 75 goals in 80 matches for the Portugese giants.
However, Gunners have heavy competition for Gyokeres from Man United. The Red Devils are keen to reunite the 25 year old with his former manager Ruben Amorim. The Gyokeres transfer saga can get very exciting in coming days.
