Arsenal to face Bolton in the Carabao Cup

The Gunners will be facing the Bolton Wanderers in the third round of the Carabao Cup. The two teams were drawn together last week in the third round draw. The match will take place at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal’s home ground.

It is confirmed that the match is scheduled on 26th September, Thursday. The match kicks off at 12:15am IST and will be broadcasted on Sky Sports+ in UK.

It will be first time for the Wanderers to play against Arsenal since 2011. Last time when they played back in ’11 in the Carling Cup, Arsene Wenger’s men handed them a 2-1 defeat. Though the Wanderers opened the scoresheet first, after a strike from Fabrice Muamba, Arsenal made a comeback by Andre Arshavin and Park Chu Yong’s winning goal.

Bolton failed to manage a victory in the Arsenal territory since 1994. The Wanderers last claimed a win over the Gunners in the FA Cup of the following year. They visited 15 times since then.

Arsenal will look forward to claim a victory over the Wanderers again to ensure their progression in the next round. They will look to reclaim the title as they last won it in 1993. It was their third ever EFL Cup.

A tough month for the Gunners

After sharing points with Brighton in the matchday 3 of the Premier League, Arsenal stands at the 4th place of the table following the red card of Declan Rice. They will be facing the Spurs in the North-London derby on 15th September, Sunday after the International break ends. It will be a challenge for the Gunners to play such a vital game without one of their best players.

Next up they will be facing the defending Europa League winner Atalanta away from home in the Champions League on 20th September, Friday. It will be a very difficult game for the Gunners as the Tifos will be there to support the home team. They are considered as one of the loudest and most passionate fanbases in the world.

Two days after the European clash they will be facing their biggest problem Manchester City away from home in the Premier League on Sunday, 22nd September. In the last two seasons Pep Guardiola’s side have snatched away the title from the Gunners in the last match day. So, Arsenal will try their very best to win over the Sky Blues and strengthen their grip on the silverware.

In the last week of the month Arsenal will be facing the Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup and Leicester City in the PL. So in the span of two weeks Arsenal will play 5 matches in three different competitions. They will be also facing Paris Saint-Germain in the UCL in the early days of October.
