Arsenal to hand new contract to 2 young superstars

Arsenal will hand new and improved contract to two young superstars. Both stars came up through the academy ranks and recently thrashed Man City.

The stars in question are Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri. Lewis-Skelly made his senior debut this season and has looked unstoppable ever since. He has so far played 19 games and recently scored his first ever goal for senior team too.

On the other hand, Nwaneri played his first game in 2022/23 season itself. He was only 15 years old at that time. This season, he is looking like a complete player and has played 22 games so far. In addition, he has even scored 7 goals.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that both Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly will be handed with new contracts. The new contracts will be offered after the end of the transfer window and talks about it are already underway. The North London club wants to reward their academy talents.

How good were Arsenal wonderkids against Man City

Firstly, Lewis-Skelly started the game as left back and played 89 minutes. He was voted man of the match for amazing performance which included his debut goal for Arsenal first team. In addition, the 18 year old recorded some amazing stats as well.

Firstly, Lewis-Skelly had 92% passing accuracy and 100% shooting accuracy. He had 41 touches along with 100% dribbling accuracy. He then had 2 passes in the final third. Along with this offensive display, the 18 year old was very good in defence too.

Lewis-Skelly won 1 tackle and made 2 clearances. In addition, he made 5 recoveries and won 6/7 ground duels with 86% accuracy. Lastly, he won all 3 of his ariel duels and was able to record his best performance so far in Gunners jersey.

On the other hand, Nwaneri came as a substitute. The 17 year old came in on 84th minute and scored the 5th goal for Gunners. He had 100% accuracy in all passing, dribbling and shooting. Nwaneri also had 50% accuracy in crossing and winnig ground duels. All stats are as per FOTMOB.
