Arsenal to involve Aaron Ramsdale in a swap deal

Arsenal were having a very silent transfer window. Not only them, but many other clubs have also been very quiet. The main reason was the Euro 2024 and Copa America. Now, the transfer activity has been accelerated for many clubs. The final month of summer window has already started. Gunners have to make some high quality signings soon if they want to win the Premier League title. They have already made two signings this summer. Arsenal are now set to involve Aaron Ramsdale to sign a new goalkeeper. The new keeper is supposed to be a backup option for Mikel Arteta next season.

Arsenal ready to part ways with Aaron Ramsdale

Aaron Ramsdale joined Gunners in 2021 from Sheffield United. He quickly became the first choice goalkeeper for Arsenal. He played 37 matches in his first season at North London. In 2022/23 season, Ramsdale played 41 matches. However in 2023/24 season his game time dropped drastically. Arsenal decided to sign David Raya on loan from Brentford. Raya quickly impressed Mikel Arteta and became the first choice keeper over Ramsdale. Raya played 41 matches last season. As a result, limited Ramsdale to play only 6 matches.

David Raya played 32 matches in the Premier League and did a very good job. He only conceded 24 goals making Arsenal the best team in defence. As a result, Gunners gave a very tough fight to Manchester City. They lost the Premier League title by only 2 points. Correspondingly, David Raya has now been signed by Arsenal on permanent basis.

Ramsdale does not like the idea of sitting on the bench. Earlier, he said that he had a tough year personally not playing. Ramsdale added he never wants to do that again. In April, Arteta said that Aaron Ramsdale will stay at Arsenal because he is their player and has a contract. However, Gunners need to let the player leave in order to make some profit. This will benefit both the parties involved. Arsenal could use the profit to balance their financial sheets. It will help the club to operate within the profitability and sustainability rules. In addition, they can use the money earned in the futher signings. They still have to sign a midfielder, striker and a right winger.

Ramsdale linked with a move to Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking for a new goalkeeper as Jose Sa is said to be leaving the club according to talkSPORT. They are linked with Arsenal goalkeeper along with Crystal Palace keeper Sam Johnstone. Additionally, Wolves keeper Dan Bentley has been looked upon by Gunners. Arsenal could use Aaron Ramsdale as a part of deal.

Both the clubs along with the player will benefit from the situation. Arsenal will get a backup keeper for David Raya. Wolves will get a good keeper as their regular starter. To conclude, Ramsdale will earn the gametime he deserves. Wolves will need to pay some cash along with Bentley. It won’t be a problem as they are getting one of the best keepers in England. The current market value of Aaron Ramsdale is €25 million. On the other hand, Gunners will get a player who has played in their academy.

Arsenal have only made 2 signings this summer. They have signed David Raya and Riccardo Calafiori. Recently, they have been reported very close to sign Mikel Merino. After that, they will shift their focus on attackers. On the other hand, Wolves have signed three players permanently this summer. They have signed Pedro Lima, Rodrigo Gomes and Thomas Doyle. In addition, they have signed Jorgen Strand Larsen on loan from Celta Vigo.
