Arsenal are now set to part ways with Jakub Kiwior permanently in january. They have also set a low asking price for the 24 year old. Kiwior has some interest from Italy where he has already shown his quality before joining Gunners.
Gunners have formed a solid defensive line in the recent years. They have high quality options present at the club. Gunners were already the best defensive team in England last season. Riccardo Calafiori joined this summer to make them even more strong.
But in the recent weeks, Arsenal have been tested and failed to restrict the opponents. They have now looked at the situation about who deserves to stay at the club. And now, Jakub Kiwior seems to be the player on the exit list in January.
Arsenal prepared to sell Kiwior in january
Earlier, it was reported that Gunners may send Kiwior on loan in winter. But now, Tuttomercatoweb have reported that Gunners want to sell the Polish player in January. Arsenal want around €20 million to €25 million which is nearly same amount the brought him for.
Kiwior joined Gunners in january 2023 and has played as both centre back and left back. Now, Gunners have many options and hence are planning to let go some of the players. Oleksandr Zinchenko can also join Kiwior soon as he has fallen down the pecking order.
Mikel Arteta uses Calafiori as left back and when the Italian is absent, he uses Jurrien Timber. Takehiro Tomiyasu who is injured right now can also play in that position if needed.
And for the centre back positions, Gunners have many options right now. Saliba, Gabriel, White, Tomiyasu, Timber and Calafiori can all play as centre back which suggests that Kiwior is unlikely to receive regular game time.
Hence parting ways is the best possible option for both club and player. Club will bag profit which will help in PSR whereas player will get regular game time. As of now, Napoli hold interest in Polish defender and Inter Milan were also keen this summer.
