Gunners are planning to submit a bid of worth £100 million, as Alexander Isak is viewed as proper fit as new Arsenal striker. Newcastle United may part the ways with Isak as the contract talks between the two parties have stalled at the moment.
Gunners wanted to sign a new striker this summer itself. They even parted ways with Eddie Nketiah and wanted to do the same with Gabriel Jesus. Arsenal tried very hard to sign Benjamin Sesko. But they were unable to sign him due to failed moves.
Sesko signed a new contract with Leipzig which runs until 2029. His rejection caused Gunners to not get a new striker and hence they decided to keep Jesus as backup striker. Arteta promoted Kai Havertz as main striker who is doing decent this season.
Despite Havertz doing really well, everyone knows it is not his preferred position. Havertz is still uncertain if he can play as number nine for long term. On the other hand, Jesus is really struggling and hence Arsenal have made signing a striker their priority for the next year.
Gunners view Isak as their new superstar
According to Football 365, Arsenal have told Newcastle that they are willing to pay £100 million for Isak. This deal will be registered as biggest sale in Newcastle’s history. On the other hand, add-ons and other factors will make this deal club record signing for Arsenal.
Isak scored 21 goals in 30 Premier League games last season. This season he wanted a new contract which would have made him the top earner in the club. But, Newcastle are not ready to accept his proposal and hence the talks are stalled at the moment.
Isak still has 3 more years left on his current contract. This will may Newcastle’s position strong in demanding a hefty fee for selling Isak. Gunners will view him as a difference maker and Isak may also provide them with title hopes due to him being very clinical infront of the goal.
