Arsenal transfer news: change in plans due to Odegaard’s injury

Gunners had a very good summer transfer window where they made specific signings only in the required areas. Mikel Arteta has a very clear plan about transfer market and it is surely working out well. But as per the recent news, Arsenal are set to change their transfer plans due to injury faced by their captain Martin Odegaard.

Arsenal have been very unlucky in the recent time. They are facing numerous injuries and to make matter worse two of their players have already been sent off.

Martin Odegaard is still out and said to miss more matches due to the injury. New signing Mikel Merino is yet to make his Arsenal debut as he has been sidelined since making his move to North London. Merino is now back at training with the first team. But, Gunners will miss Ben White who is the latest first team member to get injured.

Gunners need to have a strong squad depth if they want to take down Manchester City. They are now said to go after some players in the January transfer window as they want to make their position strong in the hunt for the Premier League title.

Latest Arsenal transfer news

Mick Brown who worked as Man United chief scout had has say about Arsenal’s plans. He told Football Insider that Arsenal will be looking at another option in January.

Brown asked that Odegaard is injured and what will happen if Rice or their centre backs gets injured too. He answered himself by saying that Gunners will be surely looking at all aspects at their team to see areas they need improvement.

Gunners already have a good depth but they cannot let injuries affect their plan. They need to have proper backup options. It is not mandatory that they should only go for first team players. It is hard to sign a first team player in the middle of the season and hence Gunners should focus on finding a temporary solution.
