Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has provided key updates about their transfer plans this month. He revealed the updates in his latest press conference ahead of UCL clash against Dinamo Zagreb.
Gunners have been hit with constant injuries this season. They have felt a need to improve their attack as soon as possible. The North London club are expected to make some key signings in the middle of the season which they don’t usually do.
Mikel Arteta in constant contact with club owners
Mikel Arteta recently revealed that he is in constant contact with the club owners. The club owners are currently in UK and will attend their UCL clash.
“We are in constant contact, obviously – understanding the situation, how the team is evolving. Obviously, some of the big news that we had, unfortunately, they weren’t that positive. How we’re feeling about it, they have been super supportive and they continue to be so” – Arteta in press conference as reported by Standard.
Later the Arsenal boss was asked wheter he has backing from the owners. The Spaniard replied in a positive way and suggested that we may see some activity from them in the coming days.
“First of all, it’s backing the club and themselves, you know, because we all want the best. The decision that we make is not to back anybody, it’s just something that makes sense, that is going to improve the squad, that is going to give us the ability to perform to a level and to win the things that we want to do. If that’s the case and we have resources to do it, we will try” – Arteta on owners’ response towards him.
Who can Arsenal target this month?
Gunners are very likely to make attacking signings this month. They have many players on the radar but mid-season is limiting their activity. However, they are linked very heavily with Matheus Cunha who is said very likely to leave Wolves this month. He can have instant impact on the North London side and change their fortune.
