Arsenal transfer news: Mikel Arteta’s striker options

Arsenal are very likely to sign a striker this year. They already have some names shortlisted and are keeping tabs on the situation. Here are some key updates about striker position at North London.

Gunners are very likely to part ways with Gabriel Jesus in the summer. They are open to listen offers despite the Brazilian being in superb form recently. Jesus is currently injured and will undergo surgery and this has forced the club to enter the market in the middle of the season.

Alexander Isak is top target for Arsenal but they may struggle to land him. Newcastle United are unwilling to sell Isak and in order to sign him, Gunners will need to break british transfer record currently set at £115 million.

The Magpies are now in the top 4 and Isak can opt to stay with them next season. He wanted Champions League football and that can be now achieved by the club. This has taken Arsenal even back in the race to sign him.

However, the North London club is not short of options. They still have 3 more strikers on their radar. All of these stars have been clinical in front of the goals and can be upgrade on any current Arsenal strikers.

Available striker options for Arsenal

According to The Sun, Gunners have three preferred targets for the striker position. Those options are Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Dusan Vlahovic. All these three strikers have been on the radar of North London club since long time.

Gunners wanted to sign Sesko in summer but were unable to convince him. He extended his stay with Leipzig until 2029 but now can be open for a move. He will cost a hefty amount of money but is the youngest (21) amongst all targets.

Gyokeres has been a goal-scoring machine since moving to Portugal. He has scored 75 goals in 80 games for Sporting and has been on radar of many top clubs. He has €70 million release clause in his contract and Man United are also keen to sign him.

Lastly, Vlahovic can be the easiest option for Gunners as Juventus are keen to sell him. They can even sign the Serbian on loan but Juve will include the obligation to buy at the end of the season. Vlahovic will be out of current contract in 18 months. Gunners can take advantage of this situation and sign him on relatively low price.
