Arsenal are set for a busy summer transfer window. Top journalist David Ornstein has revealed 4 areas which Gunners will like to improve along with some names linked with a move to the Emirates.
Gunners had a very quiet January transfer window. Despite the injuries causing tough season, they opted to not make new signing in the middle of the season. But, this suggests that there will be a very busy summer transfer window.
David Ornstein names 4 areas which Arsenal will try to improve in summer
David Ornstein while talking to NBC Sports Soccer has revealed the summer plans of North London club. He has named four areas where a new face is expected along with 2 long-term targets of Gunners.
“Arsenal are going to have a big window in the summer. They’re looking to sign a striker, and they would really like to do a deal for Alexander Isak” – Ornstein talking to NBC Sports Soccer via Now Arsenal.
However, Ornstein has raised doubts over the deal for Isak getting completed. Newcastle United are demanding around £150 million for Isak which may force Gunners to drop interest in him. They do have other options like Benjamin Sesko available in market.
“In midfield, they are hoping to complete a deal for Martin Zubimendi, with Jorginho and Thomas Partey quite possibly leaving. There’s work to do at left-back because Kieran Tierney is expected to depart, and Oleksandr Zinchenko could also be on the move” – Ornstein about midfield and defensive reinforcements.
Lastly, Ornstein added that Gunners will need a second-choice keeper too this summer. In addition, he said that they may even feel a need to sign a third-choice keeper.
Hence, atleast 4 news faces can be expected at the Emirates next season. The number can increase as other sources have confirmed that Mikel Arteta needs a winger too. It will be a very busy summer transfer window for sure.
