Arsenal Unveil their 23-man squad for Champions League

UEFA just dropped the squads for all the teams that will play in the Champions League this season. Arsenal have picked their best 23 players to play for them. Mikel Arteta will try to compete for European title along with Premier League title. Gunners lost versus Bayern Munich last season in quarter final. Arteta will try to do better this season with the new players. Arsenal have picked a 23 man squad for Champions League.

All of the new players are part of the squad. Norberto Neto and Tommy Setford in the backup keepers. Riccardo Calafiori at back, Mikel Merino in middle and Raheem Sterling up front. Young players like Ethan Nwaneri will be the part of ‘B squad’ which contains players aged 21 or below.

However, the main hype is Kieran Tierney making his place in the Champions League squad for Arsenal. Tierney has not played for Gunners since August 2023. He last played versus City in community shield. Later, Tierney was sent on loan to Real Sociedad. He played 26 matches for the Spanish club.

Tierney was said to leave the club this summer. But he is currently injured and has not recovered yet. Tierney caught the injury in Euro 2024 while playing for Scotland. He was not able to find a new club and will now stay with Gunners atleast until January. He has played 124 matches for Arsenal. Tierney will surely return before January as he is now part of the squad.

Arsenal squad for Champions League

Arsenal will have David Raya as their main keeper. He will have Neto and Setford as his backup. In defense Gunners have Saliba, Tierney, Gabriel, White, Timber, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Tomiyasu and Calafiori. Gunners have Partey, Odegaard, Trossard, Jorginho, Merino, Havertz, Sterling and Rice in middle. In attack they have Saka, Jesus and Martinelli. Squad as per the official UEFA website.
