Arsenal unwilling to give up on 29 year old striker

Arsenal are unwilling to give up pursuit of 29 year old striker despite their initial offer being rejected recently. They are planning to improve their offer but the striker’s current club are keen to keep him.

Gunners are in desperate need of striker at the moment. They are linked with many big names like Sesko, Isak and Gyokeres. But, it is proving them very hard to go after any of these names due to being in the middle of the season.

The North London club was recently linked with Jhon Duran. But, the 21 year old is now on the verge of signing for Saudi club Al Nassr. Hence, that deal is now off but Gunners are now keen to land another Aston Villa striker.

Arsenal desperate to sign Ollie Watkins

Gunners made an offer of around £60 million to sign Watkins recently. However, it was quickly rejected by Aston Villa. Villa are unhappy with the price tag and are also furious with the North London club for making an offer ahead of UCL clash.

According to Sky Sports, Gunners are planning to improve their offer. However, Villa are keen to keep the hold of 29 year old striker. Duran is leaving which will increase the role of Watkins even more now. Hence, Unai Emery is unwilling to consider any offer for his main number nine.

Watkins grew up as an Arsenal fan and hence the North London club can convince him easily. But, it seems like they will need to wait until summer to get the deal done. As of now, Watkins is a key player for Unai Emery.

The 29 year old had an impressive season last time as he scored 27 goals along with picking 13 assists in 53 games. He had a slow start to this season but has now reached double figures in both goals and assists once again. He has major role to play as Villa have qualified directly into the round of 16 in Champions League.
