Arsenal currently have 30 year old winger on loan. But, they are willing to keep him beyond this season. Hence, the player will head back to their London rivals.
The star in question here is Raheem Sterling. Chelsea signed Sterling as one of the best wingers in Premier League. But, the player was unable to carry-on the form he once had at Man City. This resulted in him falling out of favour at West London.
Enzo Maresca took over as head coach of Chelsea last summer. He quickly made it clear to Sterling that he is not part of future plans. The Blues made Sterling available in market but no clubs showed interest to sign him.
As a result, Chelsea opted to send Sterling on loan. Arsenal were in need of winger and opted to sign Sterling. Mikel Arteta used his connection at Man City to convince the player to join them. But, the deal has not went as per plans.
Arsenal to let Sterling leave this summer
Gunners do have an option to buy Raheem Sterling at the end of the season. But as per Football Insider, they have no intention to keep him beyond this season. As a result, they will send him back to his parent club Chelsea.
Chelsea will very likely make Sterling available in summer market. They will try to find a permanent solution for the 30 year old. The winger might move away from England and hence his Premier League chapter may come to an end.
Arsenal are set to sign a new winger this summer. On the other hand, Chelsea are also in the market for a new winger. While Gunners are set to part ways with some players, the Blues are set for a mass exodus. Lastly, Sterling will try to attract a top club by performing well in the remaining games.
