KAI HAVERTZ INJURY
Kai Havertz has been a revelation under Mikel Arteta since joining from Chelsea last summer. The German has put aside his shadowed past and has grown into one of the crucial players in this Arsenal team. Although his first season wasn’t that impressive in terms of numbers, but Havertz has been doing the duty he has been assigned to. He has provided assistance to Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard who play on the flanks to score goals. Havertz has been a team player and also scored goals in crucial moments.
On Sunday, Southampton took the lead early in the second half and it was Havertz’s goal in the 58th minute that bought Arsenal back into the match. When the Gunners needed someone to kick start the proceedings against PSG on Wednesday, he was there again to score the opener. So yes, he has been there for Arsenal when they want him. The German has been in excellent form this season scoring 6 goals in 8 outings. That’s not a bad number considering he is not a perfect striker. His versatile nature has been of great help when the manager had to shift and twist the game plans.
Keeping all this in mind the recent reports from The Mirror has confirmed that Havertz has suffered a knee injury. He has been dropped from the German national team and completed his rehab in London. The extent of the injury is not clear, and the return date is still unknown. The injury will be assessed in the coming days by Arsenal medical staff.
