Arsenal are very likely to after 21 year old striker in the summer window. They tried to land him in summer and were also keen this window. However, the North London side fell short on both occasions.
The star in question here is Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig. He joined Leipzig in 2023 and has been superb so far. Last season he scored with 18 goals and 2 assists. This season he already has 14 goals along with 3 assists.
Gunners were keen to sign Sesko in summer 2024 window. They tried very hard to land him but still felt short. The 21 year old signed contract extension with Leipzig to increase his stay until 2029. But, that was unable to stop Gunners from exploring the move.
The North London club were once again linked with Sesko this window. But, Leipzig were unwilling to even listen to any offer due to being in the middle of the season. As a result, Sesko will be staying in Germany atleast until summer.
Arsenal to once again go after Sesko in summer
Despite missing out on Sesko, the North London giants are still interested to sign him in summer. According to Independent, the 21 year old is their top striker target but Leipzig are still unwilling to part ways with him.
Gunner ended this window without making any signings. This suggests that a huge summer window is waiting ahead as Mikel Arteta wants to improve his final third. Hence, we may see a huge bid for Sesko from North London which Leipzig may find hard to reject.
Along with Sesko, there are many other names being linked to Gunners. They are also willing to sign a winger. Recently, one more of their star – Martinelli has suffered injury which makes attacking signings a top priority.
