Arsenal vs PSG: team news, prediction and potential lineup

Arsenal and PSG lock horns at the Arsenal stadium in one of the blockbuster clashes of this season’s UCL group stage, here is our prediction.

Arsenal and PSG are two of the top teams in Europe and this season they take on each other in the UCL league phase. It will undoubtedly be one of the most anticipated matches of this second round of matches. Anyway, two teams are in scintillating form in their respective leagues with PSG staying on top and Arsenal are still unbeaten. Despite having started their league in exceptional fashion, their start in Europe hasn’t been good enough. So, it will be a high-quality fixture with both teams going for maximum points. Here we are providing the team news and potential lineups of both teams along with our predictions.

TEAM NEWS

Arsenal and PSG will be without some of their crucial players for the fixture. Here are the team news as reported by The Evening Standard

ARSENAL TEAM NEWS

Arsenal will be without defender Ben White for their fixture against PSG on Tuesday. White has missed the last two matches with injury and also missed the training on Monday. That would mean that Jurien Timber will play in right back and Riccardo Calafiori will remain at the left back position. There were some rumors about Calafiori missing the match after appearing injured against Leicester. But recent reports said that he trained on Monday which means he will be available against PSG.

Anyway the lose of Martin Odegaard will be a big one and it looks like Arteta has couped with his absence and found a new set up that works. Oleksander Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney are set to miss due to calf injury and hamstring injury respectively. While Mikel Merino is back in training and in contention for Tuesday.

PSG TEAM NEWS

PSG have left out Ousmane Dembele from the squad due to disciplinary reasons. We don’t have any further details about the issue but he is out. Dembele has been one of the main players for PSG this season and leaving him out for such huge fixture is surprising. On the other hand Lucan Hernandez, Presnel Kimpembe and Goncalo Ramos are out injured. The Parisians are without Gianluigi Donnarumma on Tuesday. While Nuno Mendes is expected to return.

Barcola has successfully filled the boots of Kylian Mbappe and has been in exceptional form.

ARSENAL VS PSG PREDICTION

It is one of the hardest fixture for Arsenal this season in the Champions League. Anyway the Gunners have been in exceptional form this season. They are unbeaten in their league and the attitude they have shown in the games to get what they want. Against Man City they were a man down and yet frustrated their opponents whole match. After the match against Tottenham, Arteta said that he liked the way his team played ‘the ugly game’ to get the result over the line.

On the other hand PSG are in exceptional form with a 100% record in the season. In the Champions League they struggled to beat Girona as they had to wait for an added time goal for victory. Anyway Bradley Barcola on the left wing will be a threat for Arsenal defense as he is in exceptional form this season. He helped PSG to fill the void left by Kylian Mbappe.

However Arsenal at home will be a daunting task for Luis Enrique’s side so a victory for home side is something inevitable. We predict an Arsenal victory but a tight match.

POTENTIAL LINEUP

ARSENAL XI

David Raya; Jurien Timber, Gabriel, William Saliba, Riccardo Calafiori; Martinelli, Thomas Partey, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka; Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus

PSG XI
