Arsenal will clash swords against Premier League table toppers Liverpool this weekend. These two London giants will face off each other at the Anfield Stadium. This match will decide which team will lead the table.

This will be a high-intensity match as both the clubs are in top form. There are major concerns for Arsenal’s defense currently. The defense of the team is scattered as Riccardo Calafiori and William Saliba are recently ruled out of the squad. These two defenders will miss the clash against Liverpool.

The Gunners have won their Champions League against Shakhtar Donetsk on match day 3. They survived the match with a scoreline of 1-0. There was a huge penalty miss from Arsenal in the 74th minute. Leandro Trossard stood up to take the penalty but Dmytro Riznyk saved Trossard’s attempt on target.

Arsenal missed some clinical chances that could have added to their lead in this game. The last Premier League match did not end well for the Gunners as they were thrashed with a 2-0 scoreline against Bournemouth. A red card to William Saliba added to Arsenal’s misery.

Liverpool are in good form to maintain a positive start to their season. They are on an unbeaten streak in the Champion League. They are also in the first position on the Premier League table with 21 points. The Reds have only lost one Premier League game in their 8 matches.

Arsenal will host Liverpool on 27th October at the Emirates Stadium. This match will be crucial as it will decide who stays at the top of the table. The Reds are in the first position of the table while Arsenal are in the third position with 17 points.

Experts are furious about William Saliba’s red card

The Gunners will miss out on some important players when they face Liverpool at home. There are players who are ruled out because of injuries and suspensions.

Bukayo Saka is also on the sidelines as he suffered an injury in the recent international break. The Italian Riccardo Calafiori will also miss out due to a recent injury in the Champions League.

There are more problems in the defensive lineup as William Saliba received a red card in the match against Bournemouth. Saliba has started in all the games for Arsenal this season. Saliba’s absence in defense will be a huge talking point when Arsenal face Liverpool.

Arsenal Legend Paul Merson expressed his disappointment with William Saliba’s red card. The Frenchman pulled done Bournemouth striker Evanilson when he was through to goal. Paul Merson said that Saliba had no need to pull down the attacker in the box, on SkySports he said-

“Only time will tell if these red card offences will cost them the title”.

The Gunner’s players have been shown the red card three times this season. These suspensions can seriously impact the gameplay of the team. Mikel Arteta needs to remind the players that these bookings could prove to be costly for the team as the competition progresses.

Real Madrid keep their eye out for Arsenal’s center-back

William Saliba has been recently hinted at moving to Spain. There are rumors that the Spanish giants Real Madrid showed interest in making a deal with the defender. This interest was piqued when Antonie Rudiger said that William Saliba is one of the top defenders in the world, in an interview.

William is also not keen to leave the Gunners for now. He has been an important part of Mikel Arteta’s squad and started in all of the games.

The French center-back’s contract with Arsenal is up till 2027. It is unlikely that Saliba will part ways with the Gunners under Mikel Arteta. The interested clubs would have to bring an interesting deal to acquire the defender. Saliba is currently receiving around 195,000 euros a week.

Real Madrid are looking to strengthen their defensive lineup. They are recently shaken by an ACL injury to their defender Dani Carvajal. The top target for Los Blancos is still William Saliba in the January transfer window. Real Madrid will have to bring some deal to acquire the Frenchman from Arsenal.
