Arsenal are said to break their club record in the summer transfer window. They are said to offer more than £100 million in order to secure the services of Argentine forward.
Gunners ended the transfer window without making any signings. They made only 1 bid to sign Ollie Watkins for £40 million. But, it was quickly rejected by Aston Villa. Except Watkins, the North London club didn’t went after any other attacking star.
This suggests that Gunners will enter the summer transfer window on strong note. They are very likely to make some big moves in order to improve their attacking unit. As per the latest reports, they can even break their club record in terms of signings.
Arsenal keen to sign clinical Argentine striker
According to Fichajes, the North London club are plotting a summer move for Lautaro Martinez. They are said to offer more than £100 million to lure him away from Inter Milan. This deal can break their club record when they signed Declan Rice for £105 million 1.5 years ago.
Martinez has been world-class for Inter since joining them in 2018. He has so far played 314 games for them and has registered 144 goals in Inter jersey. In addition, he is first choice striker for the Argentina national team.
Martinez is 27 years old and is in peak of his career. He can be a great addition to Arsenal squad and can be looked as a player with instant impact on the pitch. But, Inter Milan will make it hard for the North London club to sign him in summer.
Along with Martinez, Gunners do have many other options for the number nine position. As of now, Sesko is still said to be their top priority. Arsenal fans can surely expect a big name joining their side this summer.
