Arsenal worried as Gabriel Martinelli suffers serious injury

Arsenal face more problems as their Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli suffered a calf injury. This is the second injury for a Gunners player. English forward Bukayo Saka is also out due to a hamstring injury.

The fans of the North London club are disappointed as the international break has been harsh on their players. Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was the first to get injured in the September international break. Odegaard went down in Austria’s match against Norway in the Nations League.

Mikel Arteta’s men have started their season in good form. They currently sit in the third position of the Premier League table with 14 points. The club is on an unbeaten streak. They have not lost a game in their first 7 games in the Premier League.

Gabriel Martinelli is undergoing treatment in the Brazil camp. The winger had an issue with his calf after Brazil’s match against Chile in the World Cup qualifiers of 2026.

Brazil Football Federation (CBF) has confirmed that Martinelli has experienced calf pain following an MRI scan on Sunday. The medical staff revealed that he has an Edema on his right calf according to TNT Sports Brazil. Gabriel wore a tape around his leg on the training ground. He will most likely miss Brazil’s clash against Peru on Tuesday.

Martinelli is out of the national team

Brazil will face off against Peru in their next fixture of World Cup qualifiers. Gabriel Martinelli will miss out this match due to a calf injury. The forward played for 5 minutes in the match against Chile. He was a late substitute in the final five minutes of the game.

The match ended in favor of Brazil as they won 2-1 against Chile. Martinelli was later wearing a tape around his calf. He missed the final training session with the rest of the squad ahead of the match against Peru. Gabriel is undergoing treatment under Brazil’s medical team. He will not play a part in the team’s next game against Peru.

The medical staff has said that Martinelli has suffered muscle Edema. This happens when a muscle swells up due to too much fluid. The Brazilian medical staff issued a statement after the winger went through an MRI scan. The statement said-

” The athlete will continue to undergo physiotherapy under the Brazilian national team’s medical department.”

Brazil currently sits in the fourth position of the World Cup qualifying table with 13 points. They are six points behind the table leaders Argentina after nine games. The absence of Gabriel Martinelli is a serious setback for Dorival Junior’s squad.

Arsenal worried as injury toll rises

Arsenal faced another blow as their star winger Gabriel Martinelli injured himself during the international break. This is the second injury problem for the Gunners. Bukayo Saka suffered an injury in England’s nation League match against Greece.

The English forward suffered a hamstring injury and limped off the pitch in the 51st minute. Saka has returned to the Arsenal camp to receive treatment for his injuries. There are doubts about whether the youngster will play against Bournemouth this weekend.

Mikel Arteta is under pressure because many of his players are out due to injuries. The Arsenal management is in search of replacements for their injured players. One such rising interest was for the Bournemouth duo of Antoine Semenyo and Milos Kerkez. This duo could be one thing that the Gunners desperately need.

The absence of players like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard will leave a huge gap in the team. Arsenal have come very close to winning the Premier League title in the past two seasons. They fell short of just three points from current title holders Manchester City last season.

The Gunners currently have the same points as their title rivals. They sit just below Manchester City in the Premier League table. Arsenal faces off against the table toppers Liverpool later this month.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool has won all of their matches whereas Arsenal have ended two of their matches in a draw. A win over the Reds will be a huge confidence boost for the Gunners. The three points could prove to be turning points as the completion progresses.
