Arsenal are on a good start to their 2024-2025 campaign. The only major concern for the Gunners is their injured players. Mikel Arteta is under enormous pressure as many of his important players miss out due to injuries.

The North London giants are in the third position of the Premier League table with 17 points. They sit just below their title arch-rivals Manchester City. Arsenal fell just short of two points last season against Pep Guardiola’s side. They have come very close to winning the title in the past two campaigns.

Mikel Arteta believes that this season will be much different. The team will aim to win trophies and titles this season. This statement seems true as the Gunners are in top form. They are on an unbeaten streak and would look to continue their winning streak in the match against Bournemouth.

Arsenal has a chance to climb to the top of the Premier League table. If they secure three points against the Cherries, they may dethrone the current table toppers Liverpool. A fierce face face-off between Arsenal and Liverpool is lined up at the end of this month.

The Gunners were one of the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window. Ricardo Calafiori, David Raya, Mikel Merino and Raheem Sterling made their way to the Emirates Stadium. Raheem Sterling is a player that still has to prove his potential for the Gunners.

Arsenal boss has confidence in the winger as they have worked together. The duo has worked as coach and player during their time with Manchester City. Fans are eagerly waiting for Raheem Sterling to get back to his top form.

Did Arsenal make a smart choice with Raheem Sterling?

The Gunner’s scouting and management team were one of the busiest sides in the recent summer transfer window. All of the new signings in the window have proven to be fruitful for the team. One player who still needs his time to shine with the club is Raheem Sterling who has been underwhelming.

Arsenal acquired the 29-year-old at a surprisingly low price. Gunners are only paying 30 per cent of Raheem Sterling’s 325,000 euros weekly wage. Chelsea will be paying 12 million euros of the winger’s 17 million euros yearly salary according to TalkSport. Arsenal have not paid any loan fees which is a very good bargain for the club.

Sterling has played just one game for Arsenal this season. He had little contribution to Gunner’s 5-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup on 25th September 2025. This was the debut game for the Englishman. Arsenal needs to be patient with him as Raheem packs huge potential.

The Gunners settled with Sterling instead of Sancho

Raheem Sterling was not a part of new manager Enzo Maresca’s plans for Chelsea. He struggled to get any game time under the Italian manager. Chelsea already has a packed squad of wingers who overshadowed Sterling. Arsenal made a deal with the Blues to sign the winger on loan.

The Englishman was not the primary target for the Gunners in the summer. The now Chelsea man Jadon Sancho was their top choice in the past two transfer windows. Jadon Sancho struck a deal with the Blues from Manchester United.

Sancho paired with Bukayo Saka would have been an unstoppable force. Sterling might get his time to shine as many of the Arsenal sit out injured. Mikel Arteta has to stick Raheem in the playing 11. It would be interesting to see how the cards will be played out for the winger.

Arenal players have had a harsh time in the international break, The Gunners captain Martin Odegaard is out till November from an ankle injury in the September international break. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are the other two players who injured themselves during their recent international duty.

Mikel Arteta will want his team to continue their winning form. The Gunners will face Bournemouth next on their return to Premier League action. Arteta will find a way to mix Sterling in the squad. It would be interesting to see how the winger gels with players like Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard and others.
