Arsenal have ended the summer transfer window strongly last night. They made moves in both ways on the deadline day. Gunners aim to take Manchester City down and lift the Premier League trophy. Mikel Arteta now has a complete squad to compete against Pep Guardiola. Here are the transfers made by Gunners in the summer window.
Incomings at The Emirates
Arsenal made five signings in the summer transfer window. To start with they made David Raya’s stay in the North London permanent. Gunners paid £27 million to Brentford to sign Raya. Later, they signed Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna for £39 million after the Italian international impressing the club in Euro 2024. Gunners took a lot of time to make their third signing. They signed Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad. Arsenal paid £28 million for Merino.
Gunners made the last two signings on the deadline day. First they signed Norberto Neto on loan from Bournemouth as their backup keeper. Later, Arsenal signed Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea. Gunners felt the need to improve their attack after the departures and injuries. Sterling has been announced officially on the official Arsenal website. Sterling said in the video released by Arsenal that we are about to see the best of him.
Players who moved away from Arsenal in this transfer window
Many players moved away from Arsenal in this transfer window. Some went on loan whereas some have left North London permanently. Eddie Nketiah, Aaron Ramsdale and Emile Smith Rowe who were the permanent squad members last season have been sold permanently. Nketiah joined Crystal Palace, Ramsdale joined Southampton and Smith Rowe joined Fulham. Reiss Nelson has joined Fulham on a season long loan. Same is the case with Fabio Vieira, Karl Hein and Nuno Tavares. Nuno Tavares has joined Lazio, Hein has joined Real Valladolid and Vieira has joined FC Porto. It is safe to say that Gunners had a very good transfer window.
