Arteta reacts to him being viewed as Mourinho 2.0

Mikel Arteta has now reacted to him being compared with Jose Mourinho who once was his coach. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher made this comparision after the latest match between Arsenal and Liverpool.

“That’s my job. For me, I would tell you everything, but it has consequences. Sometimes I don’t know if a player will be fit in two days time when we do the press conference” – Arteta justifying his early responses.

Later, Arteta said that he will not lie by saying that the player is not fit and then start him next match. But, he added that he will keep the other team guessing. He said that he also wishes to know other team’s starting eleven, subs and everything. But he cannot know that and hence everyone should do their homework.

After this he was being compared to former Man United boss Jose Mourinho by Jamie Carragher. Carragher said that Arteta is slowing morphing into Mourinho type of manager. He said that no one would have thought that because Areta earlier used to work with Pep Guardiola.

Arteta has his say about comparisons with Mourinho

Arteta has taken the comments of Jamie Carragher in a light way. He also praised Mourinho who once used to coach Arsenal boss.

“I take it as an opinion. I’ve known (Mourinho) since I was 15 years old. He coached me, he was in Barcelona. He has won 26 titles. So he is someone to really admire. The way he’s done it, the way he’s changed the culture in clubs, the way he’s done it in different countries” – Arsenal boss about being compared with Mourinho.

Lastly, Arteta said that he does not want to compare him with anyone. He said that he does not do anything because others have done it. The Arsenal boss added that he does things that he feels are best for players and teams to get success. All comments are as per Football London.
