AS Roma is furious with Zaniolo’s attitude

AS Roma is infuriated with Nicolo Zaniolo’s intentions to leave the club. Manager Jose Mourinho is scrambling to find a replacement.

Nicolo Zaniolo has had both good and bad memories with the Giallorossi. The 22-year-old netted the ball only twice in Serie A.

But his contribution to Roma’s Conference League title clinch has been significant. The Italian scored a hattrick against Glimt in the quarter-finals and scored the winner against Feyenoord in the final.

The reason behind the friction

Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that the club oversees these feats and considers him to be a burden. The player openly stated his intentions of leaving at a time that would only bring chaos to the club.

This alerted other Europeans to push for a deal which was the last thing Roma wanted. The player’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, will be invited to a meeting with Roma when it becomes appropriate; nevertheless, Roma maintains that they are not in haste to restructure his contract.

Zaniolo neglects Francesco Totti

The Giallorossi was very polite in convincing the 22-year-old to stay in Rome. On the other hand, the youngster had other plans such as immediately leaving for other European giants.

Club legend Francesco Totti on hearing the issue reached out to Nicolo Zaniolo personally to motivate him. The arrogant Zaniolo only went on to completely ignore the World Cup winner’s advice and stuck to his decision.

Jose Mourinho’s stance

There is tension between the club and the player as of now. Nicolo seems to be disappointed that the club didn’t immediately put out a release clause. But in contrast, they want to negotiate by listing him a set of offers.

The Special One is in shambles trying to find someone who can replace Zaniolo. The club has slapped a £60 million price tag on the midfielder as of now. This only makes it harder for clubs to sign him because he isn’t up to that standard.
