AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho got a red card in the aftermath of his side’s 5-2 defeat to La Liga outfit Real Betis in a friendly. However, it was not at all friendly as the Italian club played with 8 players after seeing three red cards.
The game was going smooth as both the teams were tied on 2-2 before Alex Moreno scored a goal with his hand in the 58th minute. The referee didn’t see that situation and allowed the goal which helped Betis to lead by one goal against Roma. But, Lorenzo Pellegrini opposed the decision and argued with the referee which led him to a red card.
Pellegrini left the pitch after a sarcastic handshake with the referee. But, then only his manager Jose Mourinho entered the pitch to have a talk with the referee. However, before the special one could say anything the referee flashed the red card pointing towards Mourinho. The Roma manager then left the pitch with a sarcastic clapping and watched the rest of the match from the stands.
However, this was not the end of red cards as Roma saw another two red cards in 65th and 78th minute. Gianluca Mancini received his second yellow card in the 65th minute as he fouled in the midfield. While Rick Karsdorp received his red card in the 78th minute after a frustrating foul on Cristian Tello. He didn’t wait to see the card as he marched straight out of the pitch.
The Serie A side was down to eight men in the 78th minute, and Real Betis got the chance to score two more goals before the full time. And eventually, the game finished with a 5-2 scoreline.
