Aston Villa director hints signing of 25 year old Chelsea star

Aston Villa director Monchi has opened up about their transfer activity this month. He opend up about their approach towards certain stars which hints that they may sign one attacking Chelsea star this week.

Villa are closing in on signing Axel Disasi from Chelsea. The defender has had talks with Unai Emery and is totally convinced to join them. Along with Disasi, Villa were also showing interest in one more Blues star.

The star in question here is 25 year old Joao Felix who joined the Blues this season. Chelsea paid £43 million to secure the signature of the Portugese. But, Felix has struggled for minutes so far at West London.

Can Aston Villa sign Joao Felix in coming days?

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Villa had contacts with Chelsea once again for Felix. They will need to convince both player and the club in order to get the deal done. Amidst this saga, Villa director was asked about Felix and their other target Marco Asensio.

“In the last summer transfer market, we were close to brining him (Felix) in. In the end, he decided to go to Chelsea after the exchange with Atletico. He has always been an object of our desire” – Monchi about Joao Felix.

From these comments it seems clearly that Villa have not given up on the pursuit of Felix. Hence, they are very likely to try again soon in order to land the 25 year old.

“Unai knows how to recover talent, he knows how to bring the best out of player. Felix and Asensio? One of them is difficult on salary level and one is difficult because of cost, but they attract Unai” – Monchi about pursuit of Felix and Asensio.

Felix has been very good since moving to West London. He has 7 goals and 2 assists in 20 games so far this season. On the other hand, Asensio has 2 goals and 4 assists in 16 games this season.
