Aston Villa set their eyes on Chelsea’s summer signing

Aston Villa are reported to have set their eyes on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Dewsbury-Hall has joined Chelsea only this summer for £30 million from Leicester City. But, he seems to take the exit route after a very small stint to resuce his career.

Kieran Dewsbury-Hall had a very good last season with Leicester City. He scored 12 goals and picked 15 assists in 49 matches under Enzo Maresca. When, Chelsea signed Maresca as head coach they also brought in the 26 year old midfielder.

But, Dewsbury-Hall has not been able to break into the first team due to high competition. He has only played 44 minutes in Premier League across 3 games. This lack of game-time can end his Chelsea career very soon with Villa keen to secure his signature.

Is Dewsbury-Hall leaving Chelsea?

The player has been unable to get regular game-time. The midfielder is still very young and in his prime of career. He will not like to sit on bench and hence may opt to take the exit route from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans will surely not like to see a player leaving the club in very short term. But, they have to stay realistic and think about what the player is going through. For now he needs regular game-time which will help him improve and evolve.

As per the report from Fichajes, Aston Villa are keen to sign the Dewsbury-Hall. Unai Emery needs quality in the middle of the park. Villa are currently on the 9th position in Premier League. They will want to retain their place in top 4 and hence may make some moves in January itself.

Dewsbury-Hall can play as a central, an attacking or as a holding midfielder. His versatility will add more quality in Villa’s team and help them perform well in both Premier League and UCL.

But, the move will very likely depend on what Chelsea think as they prefer squad depth and hence may be unwilling to part ways with the player. If they do agree to part ways, they will demand a big fee for sure.
