Aston Villa are unlikely to sign Man United star this summer. They are keen to sign the player but the deal can end in failure due to their Premier League standing.
The star in question here is Marcus Rashford. The 27 year old came through Man United academy and has played a major role for them over the years. He is one of their brightest talents ever produced. He was shinning bright for them not a very long time ago.
Rashford was superb in the 2022/23 season. He scored 30 goals and picked 9 assists to showcase his highest quality. But, he was unable to carry that form and has a struggling last season. This season, he failed to impress once again which resulted in him moving away.
Rashford joined Aston Villa on loan in the January window. He gained his top form back quickly after moving away from Old Trafford. The 27 year old has scored 4 goals and picked 5 assists while playing a major role for Unai Emery.
Aston Villa to miss out on signing Rashford
Aston Villa are impressed with Rashford in their side. They are planning to make the 27 year old their permanent player. They have a £40 million option to buy at the end of the season. But, it will not be easy for them to sign the Englishman.
According to Football Insider, Villa will miss out on signing Rashford if they fail to qualify for UCL next season. As of now, Villa have very slim chances to play UCL football next season. Rashford wants to play in UCL and hence is unwilling to join Villa permanently this summer.
Rashford is keen to join Barcelona this summer. He is willing to take pay-cut in order to complete his dream move. But, the Spanish giants are unwilling to pay his £40 million asking price. This may result in failure of deal as the Red Devils have no intention to lower their demands.
