Atalanta eyeing a move for Chelsea star Hudson-Odoi

Atalanta are reportedly showing active interest in Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, as per the report in Corriere Della Sera

The 20-year-old started his career brilliantly and was thought to be one of the best young talents in world football. German giants Bayern Munich were keen on signing the winger a couple of seasons back. However, suffering a long-term injury a few seasons back has stopped his development and has found it difficult to break into Thomas Tuchel’s first eleven in recent times.

According to the Italian outlet, La Dea are looking to bring in a new winger before the end of the transfer window and Jeremy Boga is their number one choice. However, the deal has now become complicated and Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are exploring other options.

The Serie A side are eyeing a move for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, however, the deal will not be easy to finalize for the Bergamo side. The Englishman will be extremely expensive for the Italian club’s liking. So, they are trying to lure the youngster on loan with an option to buy.

Atalanta want to sign Chelsea youngster Hudson-Odoi:

Signing a new winger will be a shrewd purchase for Atalanta and Hudson-Odoi would be an excellent acquisition for Gasperini’s squad. The Italian manager likes to implement the 3-4-2-1 formation and the 20-year-old would fit into that system perfectly.

Currently, Tuchel is using the same formation at Stamford Bridge and due to the abundance of talents for the attacking area the Blues have, Hudson-Odoi has found it difficult to break into the starting eleven.

So, leaving his boyhood club in search of regular first-team actions will help the winger’s development. Atalanta will be an excellent destination for Hudson-Odoi as the Italian club is one of the best clubs in the world that produce young talents and the 20-year-old will get the benefit of that if he is to join La Dea this summer.
