Atletico Madrid and Sevilla in the Race to Sign Lacazette

Wolves

Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are reportedly keen on signing Alexandre Lacazette from Arsenal. The French forward has linked well with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the London club. However, his contract hasn’t been renewed and will expire on June 30, next year.

The 29-year-old French Striker is currently one of the big earners in his current club. And the club wouldn’t hesitate to cash in some money. Atletico Madrid and Sevilla have been alerted by the situation as both the La Liga giants would be looking for a clinical goalscorer like him.

The former club is currently on course to win the La Liga. Whereas the latter club would be looking forward to playing in the Champions League next season.

A move to Atletico or Sevilla might be a turning point for Lacazette

Alexandre Lacazette joined Arsenal from Olympique Lyonnais in the 2017-18 season. Since then, he has won one FA Cup and two FA Community Shield trophies. He has scored 61 goals in 161 matches so far for his current club.

This season in the Premier League, he has bagged in 13 goals for the Gunners. Their campaign had a dream start but now, it seems like the North London club might need something special to finish 7th in the table.

As he approaches his prime, Lacazette might want to move away to win more trophies. Thus, a move away would be surely one of the options for the French striker. Atletico Madrid leads the race as they would like to bring him to pair with Luis Suarez.

Sevilla are also looking at other options as they might be losing Youssef En-Nesyri in the Summer. They see Lacazette as a potential replacement for the Moroccan forward.

This move will also prove to be beneficial for the Gooners as his transfer will add to their Summer budget. It will also ease up the pressure on the wage bill considerably. If a deal is struck it will be beneficial for all parties involved.
