This summer Arsenal signed Riccardo Calafiori as a first choice left back. In addition, Timber returned to full fitness. Lastly, the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly forced the Ukrainian to struggle for minutes. Zinchenko has started only 2 league games this season and has spent only 240 minuted on pitch across 8 league games.

The 28 year old is made available in the market by the North London club. Firstly, he was looked upon by Inter Milan but the deal failed quickly. Later, Borussia Dortmund joined the race and are still considered as front-runners in the race.

Florian Plettenberg has reported that Atletico have joined the race for Zinchenko. He added that both clubs are involved in serious talks. Spanish giants are open to sign him permanently or on loan with an obligation to buy.

Plettenberg also added that Arsenal want around €20 million with add-ons for the Ukrainian. The player is keen to move away from the Emirates with Dortmund also keen. But, the German giants are finding it hard to fulfill Arsenal’s financial demands. In addition, they want a player who can also play as centre back.
