Atletico Madrid are showing interest to sign Man United star this summer. The player is already away from Old Trafford on loan. He has been superb since January and has caught eyes of multiple clubs.
The star in question here is Antony who joined United in 2022. The Red Devils paid £86 million to sign him from Ajax. Antony was superb for Ajax but failed to carry that form to Old Trafford. In the United jersey, he scored only 12 goals along with 5 assists in 96 games.
United decided to let Antony leave on loan this January. The Brazilian joined Real Betis which became a turning point in his career. The 25 year old has regained his top form. He has scored 6 goals and picked 4 assists in 19 games at Betis and has impressed everyone.
Atletico Madrid interested to sign Antony
According to El Chiringuito via The Sun, Antony has attracted interest from Atletico. The Spanish giants are keen to sign him and are willing to convince him by offering UCL football. But, it will not be very easy as the Red Devils want around £34 million to £43 million for Antony.
Despite Antony gaining his form back, there is very slim chance of him having future at Old Trafford. Ruben Amorin is eyeing summer overhaul and wants many current players to leave. Antony is amongst the player that the Red Devils will move-on from.
Real Betis are also willing to make Antony their permenent player. But, they may struggle to meet the transfer fee set by United. Earlier, there were reports that they will try to sign the 25 year old on another loan deal. But, United are willing to sell him permanently as they need to raise funds for new signings. It will be interesting to see what is next for Antony in his career.
